Fished below the morristown dam and woolen mills dam on saturday. The white bass were NOT running! I caught 2 small ones all day. Caught about a dozen largemouths about 10 to 12 inches long...kinda' different catching them in the current. Below the morristown dam the river was thick with carp, my spinner kept bumping them and hooking them. I hooked into the back of one that had to be at least 10 pounds. He took me on quite a ride for about 10 minutes before the hook came free. Anyone have better luck than me down there this past weekend?

Your late! The run had been going for past 2 weeks. It's about over now in that area. Spinners were hot. Minnows & jigs were not. Most Stripers were in the 8inch to 12inch. Lostsa small ones too.

Try to keep them LM bass off your line. The CO's weren't liking it and were hassling anglers who caught them even by mistake.

If you have a boat try the chain of lakes in the early mornings leading up to the dam. Their still in thick there and super noisy chasing bait fish.

I seem to always be a dollar short and a day late. Well the st. croix will be a zoo this weekend with the opener so I'll pass on that. Maybe I'll give the vermillion river a try this weekend.

JB it's also too late for the White bass run on the Vermillion. My friend said that he caught white bass all day long about two weeks ago. Last week I went to the Vermillion and I caught six. One was over 2 lbs. All the people i spoke with said they are not running anymore. I am always too late like you. Good luck

Don't take me wrong, I'm not anti-technology.  Battery powdered items will always have their place.  I'm mean you don't want your girl friend or wife in the bedroom playing for their gas powered adult toys!!  That would be a bit loud and smokey!

That’s right. My 84 year old dad loves his electric chain saw. Light weight and quiet. Besides, at his age he’s not cutting a bunch. Where as myself I want something with more power and heavier duty.  Look at how many people have switched back to gasoline cars after running one in winter if you travel a lot.   As long as my strike master works I’ll keep using gas. Maybe my next will be electric, but who knows,  you can find used gas ones pretty reasonable as others buy electric.

This is the bait frig at L&M in Virginia, the other day. Also, added Highway 65 bait.

I think electric items have their places, I just don't think large commercial jobs are going to be able to work well with them. Can't see a logging crew out in the woods all day changing batteries!
