Morel's Yet?

when i was my cabin near vermilion over memorial day weekend those were everywhere. maybe 30-40 in the front yard alone. of course we picked and ate a whole bunch of them that weekend. the taste was a little less morel-like than the big yellows i have had in the past. but still very good.

also, there was a wide variety of shapes and sizes. a few were torpedo-shaped like your photo. many more looked like the traditional morel shape with a wider overhanging top. i suppose it has something to do with the growing conditions.

i look forward to next year's crop.
