6 posts in this topic

Curious to know if the boat docks are in the water at Gray's, Maxwell, etc. Thanks in advance.

Spring Park docks are out. Not sure about the others. No buoys on the lake yet. Water temps still right around 40.

minnetonka, yeah, has been for 2 weeks or more. about a week ago, when we hit those cooler temps, there was a new sheet of ice as far as you could see at grays bay and wayzata bay, but wind cleared it by noon. had to break through it at the bridge 2 mornings in a row to get out and was open upon return

I have caught them on Vermilion when the mayflies are hatching in the evening by using a fly rod with small poppers or may fly type dry flies. Just cast to the surfacing fish. A spinning rod with an Adjusta Float with poppers or flies may work even better. Cliff

I have also wondered why there are no Sauger in Vermilion. I have never caught one there or heard of one being caught by anyone else. Cliff

Thanks for the report MNfan.  Too bad fishing wasn't better for you. Good weather at least. Nice to get out this time of year.
