1700 Warrior and 90 E-Tec tiller reviews????

1 post in this topic

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this type of boat and motor combo. I plan on doing alot of walleye fishing with this boat and do a great deal of crankbait fishing, so I need a boat and motor that will troll down nicely. I had talked to one salesman that said I would have trouble with the E-tec in the cold and would not be able to troll it down below 1000 RPM's. Obviously he sells another brand of motor, but I thought I would see if anyone here as any insight into this motor and boat combo. Any insight or experiences would be appreciated. Thanks.

This site has really tanked, and I haven't been on here for about a year, but I felt compelled to fill some of my old duck blind buddies in on the latest happenings in NW Minnesota. From what I can see we've really hit that Late October lull time.  The vast majority of our local birds pulled out with that big full moon, and the cool clear nights last week.  I've been back and forth across the countryside quite a bit, and I'm seeing very few migratory waterfowl in the area. With temps being what they are, and now that everything has dried out quite a bit up here, the majority of our farm fields have been cultivated and turned up black.  Pretty balmy now for this time of year.  I wouldn't expect any kind of big migration over the next week or so, but I'd imagine a few will start trickling down out of Canada here and there. I hear things are going pretty well out in the Dakotas.  Prolly smart to head over there if you really wanna get into birds.  Just not much to speak of at all right now in Northwest Minnesota.

Fished alone today. 26 fish total. Biggest pike 36" and stuffed full of bait, biggest walleye 26", Biggest bass 19" - 4.03 lbs. If I had landed the last three fish I hooked, it would have been a great day. All felt like BIG walleyes but they chose not to show themselves before departing. Got one pike on big musky crank, everything else on soft plastic. Lunker City Swim Fish got the biggest bass and walleye. LOTS of boats out fishing - don't they know it is hunting season? Trailer still blowing fuses - arrrgh! Today's video: Today's video link

Cold and windy today, bass didn't seem to mind too much. Minnows under a float did the trick once again :-)

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you till now. I haven't had a chance to hit the chain this fall.  The bar on Cedar island that has the buoy is a food place to start. Lots of in's and out alond that whole piece of structure. The river is another option, minnows will be running soon, if they aren't already. Find the shinners, you will find walleyes close by.
