A lot of guys will get on your case for fishing that far up and harassing those spawning fish, banging them on the head with lead over and over again.

as long as a person has a licence and following the laws, it's ok to fish anywhere they want. most fishermen have good fishing ethics for whatever species they go after. good luck.

any of the few fish that make it that far have run the "gauntlet" of hundreds of fisherman and survived. why don't you just let them do their thing? There is plenty of water for everyone to fish below the upstream boundaries. give them a chance to do their thing - you hook fish up there and wash them back down river - so much for them spawning there anymore.

shogun, i personaly have never fished beyond the natural boundaries of any streams for steelhead. all the years i have fished i know for a fact my brother has not done this at any time in his many years on the river. i never even knew anyone does this. walley time for most of us and other fish. i dont think you can keep rainbows including steelhead above the natural boundary's at any time. it's catch and realease only. steelhead can not be kept at any time. so those who catch and release are few, very few, realy not an issue at all. good luck.

when can someone fish for loopers, at the mouth of the rivers in LS??? I see people just fishing the mouths before the season starts. when can you start fishing the river mouths

The season is open year round in the lake, river mouth, and river itself (upstream to the posted boundaries).

this should be a good weekend for loopers before it slows down. there are fish in the rivers, with the central streams your better choices, but fish still in the lower streams. my brothers friends have been getting fish up to today. most are released. the recent rain helped draw more in. good luck.

Don't take me wrong, I'm not anti-technology.  Battery powdered items will always have their place.  I'm mean you don't want your girl friend or wife in the bedroom playing for their gas powered adult toys!!  That would be a bit loud and smokey!

That’s right. My 84 year old dad loves his electric chain saw. Light weight and quiet. Besides, at his age he’s not cutting a bunch. Where as myself I want something with more power and heavier duty.  Look at how many people have switched back to gasoline cars after running one in winter if you travel a lot.   As long as my strike master works I’ll keep using gas. Maybe my next will be electric, but who knows,  you can find used gas ones pretty reasonable as others buy electric.
