Well after a crazy weekend of fishing. This is what ended up on my Buckshot Rattle Spoon, Light rod. and 4lb. Test.

These kinds of fish are what it is all about. Put your time in........Find your own spots......be patient and you will be blessed with memories for life. wink.gif

This is why I throw back all of those other upper 20's fish. It makes so much of a difference in every inch. She was giant. It was an extemely tense few minutes while we were trying to position the head up an 8 inch hole. She finally gave me the position and came up the hole with no room to spare.

31' Guessing some where around 12 lbs. IMG_0246-1.jpg

Wow! Nice fish PBC. I've caught fish about 1/2 that size in your area code over their - but nothing like that. Congrats and enjoy it.

This is my first mount and will be going above the fireplace at the Cabin.

Dropped it off at Nature's Image in Bemidji yesterday.

Couldn't be more excited. smile.gif

Congrats PBC! Did she come out of Pike's? I've been watching your posts for the past year. I'm also an Iowan that loves to visit Cass Lake. We fish Pike's regularly. Could that be a 4 lb test record for wally's? You might want to check it out! Again Congrats!!! smile.gif

Congratulations! That is truly the fish of of a lifetime. I've been stuck in the upper 20's and had just about given up on getting a 30+, but you have restored my hope. Soooo... did you soak the Rattle Spoon in the Coke or the Coors Light? wink.gif If I were you I would contact Northland and see if they would at least give you some tackle, maybe something more, as a promo.

Thanks Guys.

There are more of them for sure Labs. They just are not fooled by baits that often. Glad one bit on mine. smile.gif

With all the upper 20's that I have seen thrown back and heard from others that have done the same, there is a great chance that sometime you will tie in to one also.

On driftwood with tail and head kind of curved with the mouth open to show those sharp teeth. smile.gif

You could also consider tossing the lure in the mouth of it, like I did...tossed the rapala Husky Jerk in the mouth, just to finish off the mount. Just an idea. Once agian, great fish.

Why is it that, despite my 40 years of fishing, I never get a walleye that size?? Life is not fair. Oh well, I bet you never caught a salmon or a Laske Trout grin.gif. Nice walleye

Congratulations PBC!!! That is a very healthy looking fish. I wouldn't be supprised if there are more like that and bigger swimming around up there.

Good fishing,

Sachem,

I don't know how that works, my uncle who has been fishing the Cass Lake area for the last 15+ years is wondering the same thing.

Right spot and the right time.

You bet there are more of them out there though with anglers throwing back more of those upper 20's giving people a chance for a once in a lifetime fish.

Congrats Matt!!!

What a beautiful fish!!!

There's definitely bigger fish in there but I'm not telling where. wink.gif Like Matt said he's released lots of upper 20's and so has our group. Also a few right at the 30" mark.

Congrats again Matt!

had several antenna's that way and still have a UHF one here!!!

Yep times are a changing. We used to bow hunt out a little shack along the snake river out of Pinecity.   The Vikings game came in a bit better on the black and white when we boosted my buddy up the tree, so he could hammer the rabbit ears up there. We could at least now see which team had the ball on the fuzzy screen! 🤣🤣

Ours came down to the ground on the outside of the house so we could just walk up to it for turning, and get yelled at safely. 😉

That antenna reminds me of my childhood. My father would have me go up on the roof and yell at me out the window to turn it certain directions for better TV clarity

Not sure how they did the wood back then, but now they have plastic I'm sure you could bend into a circle if yea needed. 👌

What I really wanna know is:   How’d get that lattice to curve like that?  Bomb diggity!

Fish Newton lake is great for walleyes. Everyone goes to basswood and forgets about newton. The late fall pike bite in pipestone is amazing and it’s a great time to catch the big walleyes are up there feeding too.

It would cost you 830 bucks to watch every game this NFL season under multiple platforms.   I don't have peacock or espn+ or whatever they want me to have, so I'll just have to relent on being able to watch a few games.  I refuse to cave in to their demands just to watch the Packers play the Eagles in Brazil.  I think last year peacock had the exclusive rights to the Miami/KC playoff game too.  I'm sure that will occur again in January.

Well it's a win, but it wasn't to Purdy with all the turn overs and penalties!

Oop, must be another Vikings game.  So far it's been a Prudy game, Viks!  😁
