Today I called Crystal springs to ask if they knew about all the dirt being dumped into foster. To my suprise they did'nt know about it,but said if they did they would'nt have planted that last batch of rainbows.I was disgusted watching truck after truck dump dirt they have been digging up close by,probably not knowing the effects it could have on a spring fed pond. Then pushing it into the lake further with a bull dozer.I know it's a city owned park, but come on.The city caters to a couple of falcons on top of mayo,But we can dump city sludge on a few hundred trout paid for by the tax payers.I also called Lansboro fishery and they also were not told of this happening.Does this seem bad to someone???I then called park and rec and they said they were doing it to fill in the deep drop off area by the swimming area due to swimming deaths. Please!!! give me a break! They have dumped more pollutants into that water, you won't even want to swim in it.There is so many ground chemicals from areas dug up around the zumbro river project in town that you can't even see 6 inches down in the water.I am expecting to hear tommarrow from the fisheries people .

Out of curiosity what do you all think this cost them?  Not including the truck damage.

i'm thinking of heading up and trying for some tulibees for the smoker- anyone been catching them?      how are the roads out to the flats?  i was thinking of coming on from the east side of the lake- maybe Hunters.

Decided to try trout fishing through the ice for the first time and it was awesome. We were setup in 80ft of water and were catching them 20 ft down jigging a silver kastmaster spoon. It was pretty cool to see how the fish acted with the underwater camera. They were like sharks when they came in. We had probably 30 or more trout come in and check out the bait but only few takers.  Was a lot of fun. Definitly going to explore more trout lakes. Doesn't get much better then fishing on lakes with no houses on them!    Here is a video of the trip with underwater video of the strikes:  https://youtu.be/6JuJhq-50X4

There was 20 at the site.  I'm not worried about the main sheet of ice, just the access and near shore/shallow areas.   Plenty of ice everywhere else I drilled.

My kids went out Sat, Sun.  Went from Vermilion to Myrtle lake, said the trails were bumpy, but plenty of snow.  Lake has snow, but pretty slushy.
