info on a 1978 24 ft sea ray

looking at maybe buying this boat, but I dont really know about this type of boat. Any body have any info on this type?? has 260 merc 24ft weekender

I wouldn't be skared to own one.

Best advice id hire a boat surveyor to go through the boat and have a mechanic check out the engine and drive.

Things to look out for. Being glass the hull can develop soft spots. A surveyor will look for those. He'll look at the stringers to see if they aren't rotted out too. The transom is wood up against a glass outer shell. If water has gotten in between the wood and glass that transom will rot.

A glass boat is pretty much two pieces, a top and bottom. That seam will have to be checked out. Those are few things he'll inspect. He won't look at the engine or drive and that you'll need a mechanic to look over.

      Buddy and I went out yesterday around noon. Fished for a few hours was a little windy but not to bad. Only got a small largemouth and one decent gill. Only fished for 2-3 hours tried all over the small lake we were on. Ooh well still nice to finnaly get out. Planning on taking the yak out on opener do a bass/pike/ walleye trip so exited for that. Few nice gills you got there rick!

      Any reports? I know there was a lot of people out there. The boomsite access was already 3/4 full when I drove by at 5 AM. I'm thinking about going out of blufflands park on Friday.
