Moose?

5 posts in this topic

I know acouple weeks ago someone claimed of having seen a huge buck in the back of a pickup well I just saw a Suburban with 2 moose racks on the top. Is there a season that is open? They were in full velvet and I'm just wondering where is there a season for an early moose to be taken. I don' tknow if they were mounts or not but but I did see a plastic bag around the skulls so I don't know if it was an european mount or just cut but I was just shocked to see the racks.

Indian harvest follows the same season as the state. They allocate their permits differently but they have to abide by the statewide seasons.

I crossed over to the dark side of smallies about 15 years ago. Mostly chase pannies in winter but used to chase eyes a few times on the hard water each season.   I could post a ton of pics if you need more proof.

Sorry to make you hold up a bottom feeder, but we needed to see it!

I was up over the weekend and my shoreline was getting pretty sketchy.  Had a pocket of open water down the shore about a 100 yards. Where I could see the bottom in two to three feet of water.  Walked out about a hundred yards and popped four holes Saturday afternoon. There was 17- 18.5"s of ice in those four holes. Looking at the forecast I can't see the ice sticking around too much longer.  The holes I popped had 5-6" of pretty mushy cloudy stuff on top and about 12"s of pretty solid stuff underneath it.
