Winnie this week-end, any reports???

1 post in this topic

I am planning on fishing Winnie this week-end, this thread has been pretty slow, can I assume so has the walleye action??? We generally fish the late May early June bite and the October bite with a jig and a minnow, fairly shallow. What change do we need to make for this late summer trip. We also hit the northshore a lot. Will probably put in at Seely in Cutfoot or Plughat. Any suggestions would be much appreciated , thanks.

Does anyone have feedback for the fishing action on the west end?  I am going up this weekend to give it one more go.

If you don't mind me asking what weight jigs do you use?

There is about a million skid houses for sale around the lake that you may get pretty good deals on if you don't want to go through all the work.

10/23/16     Central MN      Cold front last week and again this morning brought new ducks into central MN. Mainly observed migrating flocks of ringnecks, wigeon, gadwalls, canvasbacks, and mallards--calendar migrators from ND and southern Canada most likely. Had a few good days of duck hunting from a boat on a couple mid-sized shallow lakes. It is that time of the year for calendar migrators. Any time you can get out over the next couple weeks during or the day after a strong west or NW wind, or the day after a cold, clear night with a light westerly wind go for it. Soon these ducks will blow through and we will be waiting for the hardy Canadian ducks that stay just south of the snow and ice line. Good luck, and I will see you out there somewhere.
