Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

Lake Zumbro Buzzbait Report

I was out with a friend on Friday on Lake Zumbro. Using buzzbaits and the fish seemed to be liking it. All species as well. I got a 35" northern (CPR) and caught largies, smallies and white bass on it as well. The one smallie I had was 18", but no pic. The white bass hooked himself. Also, had a bunch of other swings and misses throughout the day. Had one fish miss 4 times on one retrieve and another miss 3 times! A good time and what a FUN WAY TO FISH!

Well, I have pics of the pike and a white bass, but can't get them to load...Let me know if you want to post them for me or tell me how to do it...I tried what the site said, to no avail.

Mskyf...,

Great multi species day. Topwater fishing is probably the most exciting way to catch fish. I never get tired of seeing those boils, swirls, and then areobatics. It's brings a new dimension of excitment to fishing.

Great report and sounds like some super nice fish. If you'd like me to post a pic and it's within the forum policy guidelines, simply attach it to an email to me and I'll get it posted ASAP.

Nice report. It's good to hear the Zumbro is still producing fish.

Didn't really fish for bass specifically, but did catch a few. All but one on that double bladed buzzbait. One I got on a tube. Probably got 3 LMB's, nothing over 14". One smallie I got was 18". Real nice smallie. And some white bass were chasing the buzzbait, kind of comical. I got the one smallie on a tube and he threw the tube and it was the only one I had. So, I think with more tubes a guy would have caught more if he would have fished that way.

Wasn't sure, but I found it. looked like  you were cooking something on the grill.

We were out near Taylors.  Couple boats and us and a pontoon and a pleasure boat cut right between us "sight seeing".  Blows my mind how they cut right between boats that are fairly close to each other fishing an area and cruise right through without a care in the world!  Del, I thought last year you figured out which place I had?

Fuses are for fire protection. If you're willing to risk a fire in your boat if something goes awry, have at it. Your insurance company would be happy to have a good reason to keep all the premiums you've paid and refuse your claim. Hopefully no one will get injured or die in the fire.

Are fuses necessary on an on board charger?  Manual chargers do not have them,  is there a reason for them on the on board charges. I was given a system with a bank that may not have been working correctly, possibly blowing the fuse repeatedly.  My system would not be hooked up to an alternator on the engine so I'm wondering if it is fine to use the charging bank without the fuses.  The orange charging light comes on when I hook the wires directly up to a battery. I'm asking because I don't want to go through the bother of wiring this thing in my boat if I can't get it to work right. Also, I would technically only need 2 of the 3 banks to work, but I like the idea of repairing it to its potential.

Looking to get on some walleye and crappie this week, looks like mayflies were out in full force last night when I was on the lake. First year fishing this lake, where does a guy start?

Picked up some nice crappie and a couple eater walleyes on Allouez Bay the other day before the rains. Trolled crawlers with one light split shot and others with bottom bouncers. I was surprised at how big the crappie were
