Perch on Rainy

2 posts in this topic

Heading up tomorrow for a week of fishing! Sounds like walleyes should be awsome right now and northern and bass should not be hard to get, how about the perch? I know they are a garbage fish up there but us wisconsinites love them. Are they schooled up and easy to catch or are they going to be very spoty and hard to find? We usually fish LOTW but decided to try rainy this year. Any help it apreciated, Thanks in advance.

Chris

If you can find them you'll do pretty decent. We caught a few in 19-26 feet of water yesterday. One went 13". You may have to weed through some smaller more agressive ones to find some nice big jumbos, but they are there.

Had a good day with some good friends today.  Was nice to have a MANY fish day for a change this season.  The crappies weren't the biggest but we sorted through for a decent fry.  The pikers were a nice addition for the last weekend of the season.  We fished from 8 to 22 feet with a vast mix of presentations.   The oddest thing was the start to the day when this button buck slammed into the deck railing and broke its neck while we were getting ready to go out.  We called in for the permit and enjoyed some fresh blackstrap with the fresh fish for dinner.

That sucks when you lose gear. Tom way to go trying to find the owner of  the lures.
