Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

Here I am, either stuck in the office, at home doing yard work, or helping take care of the kids while yesterday it was 80+ degrees out and today is just gorgeous!!! This is just torture! frown.gif

Hope others are able to get out and enjoy these days. Catch one for me please! grin.gif (just venting some "withdrawls" here!) grin.gif

P.S. - everyone have a good, safe weekend!

Talk about torture, i just moved to a new home and my driveway is about the consistency of jello pudding still...I put the boat in the garage when it was still frozen, but now I can't get it out of my garage!!!!! The whole reason I moved to Forest Lake was to be closer to some of my favorite lakes and now I can't even use them.

I am stuck here working errrrrr....(surfing this site) until its late enough in the afternoon for me to sneak out and not feel guilty lol.

Fellas, fellas, not to worry....I got out enough for all of us, so far! grin.gif As a matter of fact, after having the boat on the water 4 times in 4 days, with 4 different buds, I'm fished out! One of my other buds wanted to go, to help ease you fellas pain of course, but I just didn't have it in me to do my part! grin.gif

I really do need to get out though. Last time I was out was about the 3rd of March or so, still ice fishing. Maybe next weekend though. Talked with the "boss" and so far things are a go. Loading up on fishing gear tomorrow, so that will help to some degree! grin.gif

Torture? How about sitting here in the above normal temps watching a fantastic walleye chop while my buddy, in a state that doesn't close fishing seasons, is having a blast during the best time of the year............... mad.gif

I know exactly what you mean. I've got an old college buddy in South Dakota who e-mails me pics of the walleyes he caught while I sit here and watch the counter. crazy.gif

5 years ago that didn't matter as I was going out there and fishing with him this time of year. Wife and kids now...completely different story! It's a good trade-off though! grin.gif

It is a dirty job, but someone has to do it. I fished 4 of the last 6 days. Crappie bite was great one day and fair one other day. The other two days were spent doing yard work, so I am not fishing all of the time.

HaywardBound -

Not yet....not until next year in Feb/March. Pretty well have the set-up nailed down, but boat brand is still up in the air. It's been fun so far though.

Aww, I thought you pulled the trigger.

I was in your situation a while back...the waiting part was hard...well torture for me. I'm going into my second year with my (used) SportFish.

I'm looking forward to you getting your boat.

If you get an afternoon off this summer, give me a holler & I'll let you teach me some bassin.

A return client for a couple years brought fish grips with him... After watching him mangle a couple fish I asked him not to bring them anymore. Big fish need more care when landing in my experience. I hand land most muskies. This helps with not bringing a green (not ready) fish into the boat to hurt itself and the boat. With musky fishing growing in popularity I'm noticing a lot more fish with net scars from green fish. For a young musky angler learn correct technique early. The scars after a 4 fish day are a badge of honor. One of the best gifts I've received for my musky gear is a good pair of wire cutters. I use them to cut hooks in an emergency or out of a poorly hooked fish. Or if you can find it...a jar of musky slime cologne, my wife loves it. Ha! Good luck

I fished shakopee lake in onamia on monday it had ten inches of good ice. Lots of air bubbles but seemed solid. I would guess most lakes in the area have enough to at least walk on but u can never trust ice so be carfull bring spud bar and ice picks and a friend just in case

Thanks for the shout out Moose.  I have plans to go out this weekend but to another lake.  I’ll ask if the other party wants to stick to those plans or head east instead.

Yep, that’s what I’ve heard.  I’ve used loose powder quite a bit before.  My first ML was Hawken kit gun in 50 cal.  True black powder in an actual powder horn.  Patch and ball.   The only thing I didn’t like about ML season back then is I couldn’t wear the traditional clothes too!
