Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

There has been an ice sighting in the area! Marion looked to be completely froze over and heard Hook and Cedar were also covered. I'm sure some others are looking promising as well, but not enough to risk it yet. Won't be long..........

Of course we need to use caution when going out on early Ice! I don't want to see any eager FM'ers on the news.

Be safe this Ice season,

Cedar will have a little help opening up with all of the duck hunters out there this weekend. Once they bust it up, won't be long before the north/west wind busts it up.

I would still like to get the boat out one more time this weekend.

Heye Friendly, are you atill around?

Ice fishing is a dangerous sport. It's great being the first one on and the last one off. However, people need to take responsibility for their own actions. We are also endowed with the right to drive, speak, and reproduce. We need to be responsible for ourselves. Know your lakes and if it's marginal, you best have a buddy with.

Ditto. I switched to a 3 inch shell in #2 shot. I missed a few wood ducks this morning but got one teal. Not bad for the WMA I was hunting. 2 ducks would be great. 3-4 like you won the lottery. Saw plenty of action but it was fast moving wood ducks out of range. Geese never showed. And you can't shoot trumpeter swans! There were plenty of those. Let my boy sleep in this morning. Tomorrow we'll hit the more pressured lake. I saw at least one person setting up on it this morning on my drive to the WMA. The nice thing about that - when you're almost certain you'll be the only one there - is that you can roll in not long before shooting time if it doesn't take you long to set up.

Hey Moose , sounds like some tough shooting as of late for you at those duckies . Just curious as to what choke you are using ?

Has anyone ever stored with Oak Narrows Storage before? Need a spot to put a Polaris Ranger for the winter and thinking of calling them for a space, does anyone have any experience or feedback? Any other recommendations would be welcome. Need a 10x10 or 10x12 space likely.
      Thanks!

Tamarack Island Wilderness Lodge is pretty accommodating. Grassy Narrows Lodge is one of the nicer lodges in my opinion on the Canadian Southern portion. We made a point of stopping at a bunch of locations last year and this is good sized and really nice. At this point it would be my preferred Lodge on that portion of the lake. Both of these are boat into and on an island. Ryan
