Traverse and cormotrants?

2 posts in this topic

Does anyone else think that they could become a problem like Leech lake? Seems like there has been more and more every year. I know i saw rafts the size of 3 or 4 football fields swim by the dock last fall, they were diving, and catching. Just wondering if other people have noticed this also.

Are you sure they were cormorants or were they coots? I have fished this lake a couple of times and have seen some cormorants, but usually in the fall during the migration the coots otherwise know as mudhens can occupy quite a bit of space on a lake. I myself have never seen cormorants in the fall that abundant. I am not saying they couldn't be. I guess I can't honestly answer your question. I would have to bet they were coots.
