As the WIFE and I have never been on the ice during a get together, what is the common relief measure for mixed company? Maybe bring your own bucket and hiding tarp (to keep away from telescope woman)?

We got snow yesterday and it will be gone tommorrow so we don't have a lot of experience in these matters. Help!

I bring a 6 gallon pail and garbage bags with for when a 2 hits me. Of course do it in the privacy of your house. If you can get away with it do it in your partners when he is checking tip ups. grin.gif

We bring our own 6 gal pails and black 55gal bags. I kick my boyfriend out of the ice house for privacy, Nunnu is great, but I have to draw the line somewhere! wink.gif I used to use my pail outside, until I realized I'M the one who's dropping some clothing! Duh! HE can go outside and wait! grin.gif

Last winter my wife and I were on Lake of the Woods in a rental house and she had to go #1. It was like 40- with the windchill and she insisted on me standing outside. Either that was the longest #1 she's ever done or she was seeing how close to frostibite I could get. LOL Bring a couple plastic grocery or garbage bags with you and line your bucket with them. Don't forget the TP!

Don't take me wrong, I'm not anti-technology.  Battery powdered items will always have their place.  I'm mean you don't want your girl friend or wife in the bedroom playing for their gas powered adult toys!!  That would be a bit loud and smokey!

That’s right. My 84 year old dad loves his electric chain saw. Light weight and quiet. Besides, at his age he’s not cutting a bunch. Where as myself I want something with more power and heavier duty.  Look at how many people have switched back to gasoline cars after running one in winter if you travel a lot.   As long as my strike master works I’ll keep using gas. Maybe my next will be electric, but who knows,  you can find used gas ones pretty reasonable as others buy electric.

I think electric items have their places, I just don't think large commercial jobs are going to be able to work well with them. Can't see a logging crew out in the woods all day changing batteries!
