Man, tried waxies for the crappies like someone suggested and thought it was the cats meow when the first one bit, then the walleyes came... I didnt realize just how hungry them eyes are up there. Caught 10 3+ lb wallys on blue glow and waxworms before I switched back to minnows, seemed to actually slow them down!!! shocked.gif The DNR should really move the date up to this coming opener, in this professional's opinion- Donk out

Walleyes will hit waxies readily! As a matter a fact, has anyone tried those super meal worms? They're about 3 inches long, and the walleyes love 'em!

There have been may occasions where a spoon packed with maggots will outperform a minnow head.

Perchjerking on Winnie you'll pick up 'eyes quite often while using waxies.
