Upper Red & Walleyes

We have been catching some nice walleyes out of Upper Red. Has anyone heard any facts or rumors about opening up a slot limit soon? (I thought this year would have been appropriate).

Maybe in 2007 they will open it for walleye fishing.

Yeah, it's some years off. DNR wants to make sure the place is filthy with walleyes before they fire the starting gun. What a sprint that's going to be. In a way it'd be nice to get in on it the first year, but what a crunch at the boat ramps.

In the year 2008 is when the DNR will open URL back up for walleye fishing.
That was the last report i've heard anyway.
