I'm going to be heading up this weeknd to get into some of those crappies/pike. Will the crappies still be going strong or will they be in the post spawn transition out to the cribs? Any techniques/advice would be greatly appreciated. Kelly, if you read this, you took me, my brother, dad and cousin out late ice this year when we were on the way up to the Rainy River, the day that you helped that truck out of the pressure ridge. E-mail me at [email protected]. Maybe we can hook up for some beers and I can pay you back for the guiding services. Any advice on the northerns would be great. I'll post all the results and hot presentations when I return. Thanks for sny replies.

You really dont need any advice the only thing that could hurt you is the wind.

Man, it's awfully quiet on here this week! Has anybody been out the past couple of days? How's the weather looking for this weekend. I've heard that a lot of crappies are coming from the many harbors and coves along the east/souteast side of the lake. Can these be accessed from a boat by anyone, even if it is a personal/private harbor? We had a similar issue on the Mississippi River this year from a guy who wouldn't let anybody in his harbor and he ended up being fined fairly heavily by the DNR.

Hey,

It was nice to meet you on Saturday. Let me know when we're gonna do some backwater fishing on pool 3.

Hey guys! It was great to meet some people from this site. How did you guys end up doing? I got into a quite a few very nice walleyes trolling beetlespins in 3-4' of water south of Hudecs. Picked up a few stragler crappies as well. I heard some reports that the area I saw you in, really started kicking out some crappies Saturday evening out a bit further in 8-10'. Look for me on the Mississippi River forum or fishtheriver.com and we can hook up in the future!

Don't take me wrong, I'm not anti-technology.  Battery powdered items will always have their place.  I'm mean you don't want your girl friend or wife in the bedroom playing for their gas powered adult toys!!  That would be a bit loud and smokey!

That’s right. My 84 year old dad loves his electric chain saw. Light weight and quiet. Besides, at his age he’s not cutting a bunch. Where as myself I want something with more power and heavier duty.  Look at how many people have switched back to gasoline cars after running one in winter if you travel a lot.   As long as my strike master works I’ll keep using gas. Maybe my next will be electric, but who knows,  you can find used gas ones pretty reasonable as others buy electric.

I think electric items have their places, I just don't think large commercial jobs are going to be able to work well with them. Can't see a logging crew out in the woods all day changing batteries!
