I'm going to be heading up this weeknd to get into some of those crappies/pike. Will the crappies still be going strong or will they be in the post spawn transition out to the cribs? Any techniques/advice would be greatly appreciated. Kelly, if you read this, you took me, my brother, dad and cousin out late ice this year when we were on the way up to the Rainy River, the day that you helped that truck out of the pressure ridge. E-mail me at brianhi@bolton-menk.com. Maybe we can hook up for some beers and I can pay you back for the guiding services. Any advice on the northerns would be great. I'll post all the results and hot presentations when I return. Thanks for sny replies.

Man, it's awfully quiet on here this week! Has anybody been out the past couple of days? How's the weather looking for this weekend. I've heard that a lot of crappies are coming from the many harbors and coves along the east/souteast side of the lake. Can these be accessed from a boat by anyone, even if it is a personal/private harbor? We had a similar issue on the Mississippi River this year from a guy who wouldn't let anybody in his harbor and he ended up being fined fairly heavily by the DNR.

Hey guys! It was great to meet some people from this site. How did you guys end up doing? I got into a quite a few very nice walleyes trolling beetlespins in 3-4' of water south of Hudecs. Picked up a few stragler crappies as well. I heard some reports that the area I saw you in, really started kicking out some crappies Saturday evening out a bit further in 8-10'. Look for me on the Mississippi River forum or fishtheriver.com and we can hook up in the future!

Nice Job Jeff. Love the secret potion you know how scent can play a key role in the bite.    Wow some good prizes for this years event. People come on out and join the fun. We all will do are best to help you ice a few cats, maybe even your first.

Those are some dandies . The eye bite has been a little rough lately.  What worked to put those two nice ones topside?

First off welcome to the site and thanks for posting. Not sure about a road plowed on Woman but broad water and lantern bay are good  places to find panfish on that lake. More than likely there will be a truck trail to both as they are pretty popular spots. Good luck

Fishing as Good Friday night then Saturday not so much. Pictures from Friday, none from Saturday because everyone knows what one 5” perch looks like.

Was on Green by Chisago with my daughter who is 6. Like others, we marked a lot of fish but getting them to bite wasn’t easy. Did catch a fair number of bluegills and crappies but really had to coax them into biting. The bite did pick up a little as it got closer to dark though. We stayed out until about 6:30pm. My daughter didn’t want to leave but I was out of propane for my heater so it was getting a little cold so we left. Everything was mostly small but did catch a couple of decent sized crappies. Ice is thick and you could pretty much drive anywhere with 4WD. Fun time with the kid and she’s hooked on it. Already asking to go again.

First timer checking in. My folks bought a place on Child/Boy River. Looking forward to spending more time in the area. Wondering if anyone knows if there are roads plowed on Woman Lake? Was hoping to try and catch an evening/morning bite this week. Thanks
