Fishing. Fishing! To most all of us forum readers that simple word has a good feeling to it. Most of us don’t get to do it as much as we would like. So we talk about it when we are not doing it. Each person brings a unique viewpoint to the talk. A novice might be real excited about her first fish. Everyone gets excited about they’re biggest or they’re most caught. “First” is something we all can relate to, that doesn’t change. But, “biggest” and “most” change from year to year. Some of us choose to remember exact numbers of our “biggest” and our “most”. Others take a picture or two to help the brain out. Still others simply trust to pure memory. The first method is the most accurate but people like me the last tends to be more satisfying. My brain tends to remember only the highlights of a fishing trip, while my records keep track of the good and the bad. If you’ve fished enough sooner or later you will have a trip with lousy numbers but was a really good time. Likewise, there are good numbers trips that something screwed up really bad (like losing a lower unit). The point of this is to allow others to have their stories. It is sad when people judge their own fishing by how much better it is then someone else’s! Good fishermen are good storytellers! Good friends are good listeners!

Good point! I think all of us have the same goal in mind....fish more and work less & less & less.

Good Job!!

I've won thousands of dollars fishing touraments, and as I read some of the posts I start to think that I'm not that good. I have yet(out of 60-70 trips) to catch 400 crappies, get a limit of 2lber's, catch a 56 in northern. I see fish 150 days a year and maybe that's why I have realistic results. The look on peoples faces when they do something that they have never done before is priceless!!! It is unfortunate that others have to try to take away from such a memorable moment just because they don't see the results through the same eyes!!

Opinions are like a**holes(everybody has one) sometimes it's better to just keep our opinions to ourselves!!
