I am heading up to look at some property in the Pine City area, and was wondering if someone could tell me a good spot to stop and try some shorefishing. Pokegama and Cross lake area. I think the river should still be well open, but I really don't know as I haven't been up there. Could anyone point me in the right direction? Livebait? Tossing cranks? I probably won't be up there to much after 6pm, so the late bite is not an option. Unfortunately........

Thanx....

ps: Any specie of fish is ok for me. I am just going to stop for a bit while I'm up there and get a line wet.
Thanx again...........!

Well, nobody replied, but I guess it didn't matter. We waited until dark because we got too loaded at the pub. Went out in a little johnboat borrowed to us by a friend that lives up there. Putted around and crawled a shadrap on snap weights. Pulled in 14 walleyes and almost all keepers! So much for fishing on shore. I hope to get back up there before too long, most of the lake is still open, or was......

Don't take me wrong, I'm not anti-technology.  Battery powdered items will always have their place.  I'm mean you don't want your girl friend or wife in the bedroom playing for their gas powered adult toys!!  That would be a bit loud and smokey!

That’s right. My 84 year old dad loves his electric chain saw. Light weight and quiet. Besides, at his age he’s not cutting a bunch. Where as myself I want something with more power and heavier duty.  Look at how many people have switched back to gasoline cars after running one in winter if you travel a lot.   As long as my strike master works I’ll keep using gas. Maybe my next will be electric, but who knows,  you can find used gas ones pretty reasonable as others buy electric.
