Just got it in the mail.  Looks like it will be a fun little of. 26 inch UL.  Nice light tip on it. Anybody out there use these?

Ok not sure if this is the same rod?? But I found these a couple years ago. Love them mine are all 24 inches only ones that I use and not expensive so don’t care if I happen to break one once in awhile..

thats the one I got last year. nice little rod but I wanted something a little lighter on the front end so got the pro ice blue 26 UL.  I used the 24 inch in the yak and it worked great.

I use the 48" but I cut the first section of orange top off and reinstall the tip guide. Stiffens it up perfectly for me to get good hook sets but still super soft for dead sticking.

I just ordered 2 more for spares. Looking to try setting them up as tip downs.

Man you can really see the standards of this site of have dropped.  A few years ago we were talking over $80-$100 Thorne Brothers Custom made Ice Rods.

Now a $9.99 dollar rod is the talk for the forum!  :(

We need to bring back the Rich folks! :P

You'd get a good laugh at what the consistent check cashers on the ice fishing circuits, have been have been using for years. $4.99

You would be blown away seeing what the USA Fishing Team is using to put very negative biters on the ice for about $8.99 retail for rod and reel. The ability to present small lures (1.5mm) on ultra light line (3/4 lb), and still be able to detect bites, is what it's all about.

Not really, I had that shock a year or so ago when I went out for a day fishing with a Ice Tournament guy. His rods had very light ends, as in you could almost blow on them and they would move. He bought them all on-line for some good cash $80-$100 each. But he did have on all his rods that little cheap in-line reels with like 1-2 lb line on them all! I had to actually borough one of his rods and reels just to keep up with him! :P

Someone let the cat out of the bag on my favorite reels. I love just how light they are but I only go down to two pound test. I thumb the reel to act as my drag. Only use when it is shallow enough to hand over hand.

Don't take me wrong, I'm not anti-technology.  Battery powdered items will always have their place.  I'm mean you don't want your girl friend or wife in the bedroom playing for their gas powered adult toys!!  That would be a bit loud and smokey!

That’s right. My 84 year old dad loves his electric chain saw. Light weight and quiet. Besides, at his age he’s not cutting a bunch. Where as myself I want something with more power and heavier duty.  Look at how many people have switched back to gasoline cars after running one in winter if you travel a lot.   As long as my strike master works I’ll keep using gas. Maybe my next will be electric, but who knows,  you can find used gas ones pretty reasonable as others buy electric.

I think electric items have their places, I just don't think large commercial jobs are going to be able to work well with them. Can't see a logging crew out in the woods all day changing batteries!
