I think my guesses are early on Pike Bay (April 12) and late on Big Bay (April 18).  Looks like they could clear almost the same day (April 14 with high winds).  Will be up to check my boat house on April 14.  Hopefully the ice didn't ruin it again.

I'm hoping that the ice didn't ruin the strewn rocks and errant logs on my shore line. That's prime fish habitat!

I am currently on the east end of the lake, certainly not a sign of ice anywhere.

I'm not sure what the official date was, but I think it was 100% gone on the 14th.  That would be tied for the 5th earliest ice-out on record.

Fun newz, fun time of year.

Way early so 1st time in our 21 years on our LiL island we won't have docks in when Pike Bay clears.

Hit it the 28th for the weekend an go at it slow setting up for summer.

So fun working on lake / island stuff you love an we love that LiL old cabin. Oh yeah.

 

Cool note, my Father in-law Big Jack Nielsen is 96 years old Saturday.

Going to visit an hit local Smelt Fry over in Cheezzzville other wise be up this coming weekend 4 sure DaddyO....

Worth missing short tirp up for this, Jack rules!

By fish for opener no doubt Wallyz be done with spawn again early so mix of places to hit makes it ever so fun for Bonnie, the hounds an Me, the one an only wonderful T.

We like try all kinds of things to catch them deep, shallow, slow n fast an all that good summer stuff~~~~` or NOT!

HEY ~~ Everyone, please Think 1st, Be Safe, have success in all you do, have lots of fun an enjoy it all.

Enjoy each sandwich or chunk o fish as you never know.....the lake, she is deeper than you or I know.

 PS:    Sir Moe Rock is bizzy studying his lake map and notes from last summer on his computer. Plus on weekends watching a few fishen shows on tube.  Polar Bear Boy just wants a Taco & a swim.   : )

      Don't take me wrong, I'm not anti-technology.  Battery powdered items will always have their place.  I'm mean you don't want your girl friend or wife in the bedroom playing for their gas powered adult toys!!  That would be a bit loud and smokey!

      That’s right. My 84 year old dad loves his electric chain saw. Light weight and quiet. Besides, at his age he’s not cutting a bunch. Where as myself I want something with more power and heavier duty.  Look at how many people have switched back to gasoline cars after running one in winter if you travel a lot.   As long as my strike master works I’ll keep using gas. Maybe my next will be electric, but who knows,  you can find used gas ones pretty reasonable as others buy electric.
