Saw a couple dump trucks and an escalator our in front of the Tamarack this morning on my way you LOW.  Wish I would have stopped to take some pics but was in too much of a hurry.   I think the wife might have calmed down about my 1 Ton diesel on the ice after see6 a full dump truck parked next to an escavator, next to a big hole in the ice. ;)

Looked more like the first one but out a ways on the ice. ;)

Looks like a real bad day in the second pic.

I was dragging bottom thru there last year on opener. Strong west wind made my drag the hull in the swells

The guy with that backhoe through the ice is a good friend of mine. I was tempted to back up to him with my Mazda, throw him a stretchy rope and yell "Hang on" but he didn't look like he was in a joking mood. :D

They did have one little hiccup today when a loaded truck went over an old crack but they got it out and carried on.

It's surprising how water tight those dump trucks are.  I'm glad I gave the truck plenty of room and the pickup truck coming from the south cleared as about 50 gallons of water and ice sloshed out as the truck turned by West winds.

leech~~, that is the mouth of the Tamarack River where you get out to the main lake. We were up there in November & there was a couple places where I had the motor trimmed just about all the way up. The graph said < 2', good thing it wasn't very windy

Don't take me wrong, I'm not anti-technology.  Battery powdered items will always have their place.  I'm mean you don't want your girl friend or wife in the bedroom playing for their gas powered adult toys!!  That would be a bit loud and smokey!

That’s right. My 84 year old dad loves his electric chain saw. Light weight and quiet. Besides, at his age he’s not cutting a bunch. Where as myself I want something with more power and heavier duty.  Look at how many people have switched back to gasoline cars after running one in winter if you travel a lot.   As long as my strike master works I’ll keep using gas. Maybe my next will be electric, but who knows,  you can find used gas ones pretty reasonable as others buy electric.
