Alumacraft boat value ?

Recommended Posts

Thinking about sell my boat and trying to get a figure that I can put on it but having some struggles. NADA seems way off from what I have seen on other boats for sale. This is what I have - 2002 Alumacraft Tourney pro 175 CS, Merc 150 EFI, 2X hull, Merc 9.9 kicker linked into the steering, Minn Kota Vector 3x Transom trolling motor, Minn kota Bow 55# powerdrive with Universal Sonar and Copilot, Lowrance 102C hooked up with the bow trolling motor, Lowrance 5HDI on the dash, CD player, CB radio, Wave wackers, New winch, Custom trailer By Prestige for Alumacraft with a new Axle and trailer tires, Alumacraft cover. Low hours on the motors since I lived in Nebraska and used it 2-3 times a year when I went to MN/SD. Only on the water twice last year and yet to be on the water this year since we bought a new pontoon for our lake. Has some scratches and a little dock rash but other than that looks good. Carpet is starting to fray in a few spots but otherwise in good shape. Has 2 bait wells and live wells. Onboard charger and set up for 24V. Any ideas on what a fair selling price would be? Thanks

I do not live out your way (Pennsylvania)...but out here that boat would go for between $5500.00 to $7200.00 depending on condition......14 years old brings the value down dramatically. One of my best friends has a 2007 G3 with a 115 Yamaha.... paid 23k for it....was only offered $6500.00 on a trade for a new jet boat. I talked him into keeping his boat and put a jet lower unit on his 115, making it roughly an 80 at the pump. I could not believe how far the value on that boat dropped. The only good thing is that your value is relatively stable right now....so you need not be in a rush to sell it as 1 or 2 years is not going to affect the value of a used boat very much.

I forgot to add his boat doesn't even have a scratch in the paint....carpeting is flawless, has a 2 year old 70 lb trolling motor, batteries are 2 years old etc etc.... newer electronics and all...yet the value on it is less than a third of what it was new.

Sounds like I need to go to Pennsylvania to buy a boat...This summer my brother bought a 2001 Alumacraft Tournament Pro 175 with a 115 four stroke Mercury. It has an 859 humminbird, wave wackers, and a newer Minnkota Terrova with Ipilot Link. He bought that for $11,800 and I thought that was a pretty good deal.

Throw it up on some sites that sell boats with the price you think  and see what happens.  I sold a boat very similar to yours 3 years ago for $16k.  I started even higher than that too.  You never know.

Thanks for the responses, seems like Alumacraft and Lund hold a better value here than in other states. was thinking around 13 or so - we will see what happens, thanks again!

I am not trying to be a downer, at $13g's for a 2001 I would just pass by the ad.  I bought a 2001 prov in 2010 for $9+ g's.  Probably not as nice of shape (cosmetic) as yours.  Your  '01, probably cost in the ballpark of $20g's new.

I would suspect a price in the $8,500 -10,500 would get you a fair market in my honest opinion.

That boat was more like 30G new in 2001.  My 1775 with 115 two stroke merc and 9.9 kicker, no trolling motor no electronics was over 20 in 1998.  A 150 EFI two stroke would have been 4k more at least.

But it is worth what you can get.  Alumacraft is popular in MN.

Based on what I am seeing at dealers and on CL on am not too far off - seems like the Alumacraft and Lunds hold their value much longer here than in other areas of the country. May have to take my smooth moves seat with me if I do sell, that thing is a must have if you spend a lot of time on rough water. Thanks for the comments.

Used Boat value as went up since boat manifactures are starting to increase their price. Whom wants to pay 80k to get in a fully rigged bass boat when they have a used one paid for just not as pretty.

With the early ice out, how is the curlyleaf pondweed doing?

On the south end...   The big basin, otherwise known as Big Traverse Bay, is ice free.  Zippel Bay and Four Mile Bay are ice free as well.  Everything is shaping up nicely for the MN Fishing Opener on May 11th. With the walleye / sauger season currently closed, most anglers are targeting sturgeon and pike.  Some sturgeon anglers are fishing at the mouth of the Rainy River, but most sturgeon are targeted in Four Mile Bay or the Rainy River.  Hence, pike are the targeted species on the south shore and various bays currently.   Pike fishing this time of year is a unique opportunity, as LOW is border water with Canada, the pike season is open year round. The limit is 3 pike per day with one being able to be more than 40 inches. All fish 30 - 40 inches must be released. Back bays hold pike as they go through the various stages of the spawn.  Deadbait under a bobber, spinners, spoons and shallow diving crankbaits are all viable options.   Four Mile Bay, Bostic Bay and Zippel Bay are all small water and boats of various sizes work well. On the Rainy River...  Great news this week as we learned sturgeon will not be placed on the endangered species list by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.     The organization had to make a decision by June 30 and listing sturgeon could have ended sturgeon fishing.  Thankfully, after looking at the many success stories across the nation, including LOW and the Rainy River, sturgeon fishing and successful sturgeon management continues.   A good week sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River.  Speaking to some sturgeon aficionados, fishing will actually get even better as water temps rise.     Four Mile Bay at the mouth of the Rainy River near the Wheeler's Point Boat Ramp is still producing good numbers of fish, as are various holes along the 42 miles of navigable Rainy River from the mouth to Birchdale.   The sturgeon season continues through May 15th and resumes again July 1st.   Oct 1 - April 23, Catch and Release April 24 - May 7, Harvest Season May 8 - May 15, Catch and Release May 16 - June 30, Sturgeon Fishing Closed July 1 - Sep 30, Harvest Season If you fish during the sturgeon harvest season and you want to keep a sturgeon, you must purchase a sturgeon tag for $5 prior to fishing.    One sturgeon per calendar year (45 - 50" inclusive, or over 75"). Most sturgeon anglers are either a glob of crawlers or a combo of crawlers and frozen emerald shiners on a sturgeon rig, which is an 18" leader with a 4/0 circle hook combined with a no roll sinker.  Local bait shops have all of the gear and bait. Up at the NW Angle...  A few spots with rotten ice, but as a rule, most of the Angle is showing off open water.  In these parts, most are looking ahead to the MN Fishing Opener.  Based on late ice fishing success, it should be a good one.

Nice fish. I moved to the Sartell area last summer and just thought it was windy like this everyday up here? 🤭

Crazy windy again today.... This is has been the norm this spring. Between the wind and the cold fronts, fishing has been more challenging for me than most years.  Panfish have been moving in and out of the shallows quite a bit. One day they are up in the slop, the next they are out relating to cabbage or the newly sprouting lilly pads.  Today eye guy and I found them in 4-5 ft of water, hanging close to any tree branches that happened to be laying in the water.  Bigger fish were liking a 1/32 head and a Bobby Garland baby shad.   Highlight of the day way this healthy 15incher
