Heading up to the area on Friday and wondering what kind of water temps you are seeing.  I want to spend some time hunting  crappies (prespawn I would presume) and wondering if any of you have been finding them shallow or if they are still more in the transition mode?

Hoping that rain holds out and we get a beautiful weekend to be on the water,

We're about 40 miles north of GR,Winnie area,& when we got here the surface temps were running upper 50's to low 60's.That was 3 weeks ago, now after most of a week of cooler/wet weather,I seen upper 40's to 50 today. We're pushing 2 1/2 inches of rain since Sunday.

McCavity bay was about 51 degrees and quite a few were out after crappies we noticed Monday to wednesday as we chased eyes.

Water Temps were about 53 - 54 degrees on Friday and topped out at 57 on Sunday in the GR area lakes I was on.  Storms and wind made the fishing pretty tough.  Crappies did a great job hiding but did manage to get into a few isolated schools of sunnies and a few bonus bass.

Hoping some stable weather comes in which should really help concentrate the crappies and make for some great fishing.
