How many lines with one flasher can you or should you fish?

Swill

Question

Hello all..
I just bought a new Marcum lx-3 and how many holes can I expect to fish with that thing? I went out with a buddy and we were each fishing 2 lines. I have a 7"auger so we drilled 5 holes and used the middle hole to read both the two inner holes while we were jigging. Sometimes it seems like too much showing up on the flasher so after adjusting the gain things looked better.
Just wondering what other people do...

i only like to have one line showing up on the vex. if there are 2 or more i start to go nuts. in a house i try to have my vex as far away from the other lines as possible then i can usually put the gain to 0 to block them out.

Would you ever fish 2 flashers in the same house or would the interference be too great?

I like to do exactly what Pig-sticka said- one line per vex. Yep, you can definitely fish multiple flashers in the same house. Just play with your IR and see what works best for you and the other flasher.

The last two times I have been out fishing we have had a fl-8, fl-18, and two lx-3 all in the same 8 by 12 house and you do get a little interference, but it's just a few quick lines flashing once in a while. Technology is pretty awesome!!!!!!!!

I always fish two holes on one vex. It's easy to tell which lure the fish is going to by keeping the right side lure up higher than the left or vice versa. It's pretty easy when you get used to doing it. Works better in deeper water for me. Up shallow, too much return and things get distorted...2 vexes in the same house? Could be trouble!....Only room for one in mine anyway.........T

I fish 2 lines with my vex all of the time. Granted, if you are fishing less than 20 feet deep your holes need to be pretty close, but it works great in deeper water. I typically jig with one rod, and fish a live minnow on a plain hook and small splitshot on the other. I adjust the vex so I get a occasional green line from the minnow, and leave it there. Once in a while I lift both of my lines to make sure that everything "moves". I can't imagine fishing more than 2 lines though...

Don't take me wrong, I'm not anti-technology.  Battery powdered items will always have their place.  I'm mean you don't want your girl friend or wife in the bedroom playing for their gas powered adult toys!!  That would be a bit loud and smokey!

That’s right. My 84 year old dad loves his electric chain saw. Light weight and quiet. Besides, at his age he’s not cutting a bunch. Where as myself I want something with more power and heavier duty.  Look at how many people have switched back to gasoline cars after running one in winter if you travel a lot.   As long as my strike master works I’ll keep using gas. Maybe my next will be electric, but who knows,  you can find used gas ones pretty reasonable as others buy electric.

I think electric items have their places, I just don't think large commercial jobs are going to be able to work well with them. Can't see a logging crew out in the woods all day changing batteries!
