Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

Demontreville + Olson report

This lake is REALLY clear. Clearest lake I've ever fished on. Must have been able to see the bottom 12+ feet. Saw LOTS (thousands) of small sunnies.. but didn't catch a single thing! I was out for 6 long hours. First time on the lake.

I tried many things.. mostly Mister Twister type spinners with powerbait grubs.. many colors. Either it was them... or me... or the weather?

I know there are BIG bass there.. I found one floating on the water.. it was huge! Biggest bass I think I have ever held.. was pretty fresh and had a large hook deep in the throat and broken line. frown.gif Maybe one of you loss a big one on broken line very recently? He was in good shape.. must have died today.

Any tips for the lake for my next attempt?

From what I know, that lake is a C&R only lake. I was thinking bout fishing that lake because I live right by it but haven't had the chance to yet.
I know they stock northerns, bass, eyes and pan fish there though

I was out on Saturday and did alright. Caught some 14-16inchers, and lost 2 pigs. Got one of them up next to the boat. I usually don't catch a lot but the ones I catch are large. I do best finding the weed flats and working over the top with plastics.

Hello High Water

Slyster,

Olsen is outstanding for Bass! Demontraville is a little tougher to nail them one after the other. I was out till 2:30 a.m. last night and couldnt keep the 4 pounders away. You need to get yourself some Heddon tiny torpedos. Doesn't matter day/night rain/shine. Hit the first 10ft. inside the weed line on either the south shoreline or north bay (first one to the right from the channel)and they will come like carp to corn. Oh yeah FISH IT SLOW. Hope this helps your next outing to this great metro lake. smile.gif

Sorry to hear about the dead pig. People should really beef up their line. These fish head to the bottom of the thick cabbage and you really gotta wrestle them out.

Looks like you had a better bite than I did. I really didn’t expect all my gear to be that bad hand pulling out.  Big time failure on my part to not bring my wheeler.  I have too much of a spearing Jones to have left it all back at the truck. I brought a few gills, a seed, a crappie and a 25 inch walleye home.  Biggest gill went 8.  I went through a half dozen heavy pike suckers on the tip up but never dropped the spear.  Only saw one 20 incher that never really got in the hole.  The walleye inhaled the sucker and got the hooks in the throat. Glad you guys got some nice ones!

I found a new unopened Minnesota V6.0 on Craigslist for 75$ and it was only 2 miles from my house saved me a trip to Cabela's.

I’m sure we will still be waiting for a bit for even walkable ice but hopefully people in the area can keep there eyes and ears open and let the rest of us know how the ice is and when it get here.
