Last day to fish before the ice is gone, temps are to be in the 60s on saturday. I caught this 11 inch CORN FEED crappie on weds only one of size, last saturday pulled 25 crappies all bigger then this one also caught 2- 4 lbs largemouth bass. know its time to pack the things away tell next winter.

      I love these fish! The attitude is always fun and they taste great. The strip of y bones can be cut right out with a little effort.    I know where I'll be early in the morning May 13th with topwaters and swimbaits!

      Grubens did permits the 2016 season. Fortune bay stopped writing BWCA permits the end of the 2015 season. Sally retired and that ended the permits at the bay.  Some day we will be able to buy permits on line and print them.

      The video shown in the link posted above shows most of the fish they're handling going back because they're not ready or too green. The video was from 4/14 so I would bet they are done as that was 1 1/2 weeks ago. Cutfoot was done in less than a week. Cliff will be able to tell you for sure when then finished but I'd guess they were done by the end of last week.
