Thanks to everyone that put on the Round Lake event. it was a fun day, a bit breezy, but all in all it was perfict. I got onee Eye wish i could of got some more. My wife got tto eat my keep!

I totally agree. Even with the wind it was still a pretty nice day. I only got one eye but I had some gills to go with it so Grandma should be set on fish for another week.

Yeah one eye for ole perchy and a HONDO cash to go with it. The guys went back to my house at sunset and brought home 1 limit of eaters.

      I crossed over to the dark side of smallies about 15 years ago. Mostly chase pannies in winter but used to chase eyes a few times on the hard water each season.   I could post a ton of pics if you need more proof.

      I was up over the weekend and my shoreline was getting pretty sketchy.  Had a pocket of open water down the shore about a 100 yards. Where I could see the bottom in two to three feet of water.  Walked out about a hundred yards and popped four holes Saturday afternoon. There was 17- 18.5"s of ice in those four holes. Looking at the forecast I can't see the ice sticking around too much longer.  The holes I popped had 5-6" of pretty mushy cloudy stuff on top and about 12"s of pretty solid stuff underneath it.
