Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

So I was plannin on gettin out early in the morning and totally forgot to buy more bait since I ran out this morning. I wanted to be on the ice by 6 or even a little earlier. Any of you guys have bait and wanna try to catch a walleye in the morning shoot me an email(jheuston@hotmail.com) tonight and we could meet up on the ice in the morning. I have a two person portable and would be heading out alone. Might even go to my secret spot, haha, wish I had one. This is a bit of late notice but I figured it would be worth a try.

Uwleagle you should know better than that! A guy like you that lives on the river probably doesn't even need meat on the end of your line to pick up fish. Wish I could of gone. I think I am going to give Tonka a try tomorrow. See you on the river soon!

Yeah I was actually planning on going out in the afternoon instead of morning but last minute found out I had to work at noon. Thats why I didn't get minnows early. But don't worry I already got some minnows for tomorrow so I will be out bright and early. Fishing4aLivin I know I am pretty good but I think I still might need some bait on the end of the hook, haha. Let me know next time you will be on the river.

Thought I'd give it a bump. I can see it though.... Egg peeling demonstrations by eyeguy, panfish on plastics Rick G, and moose could handle the Q & A. Whats the role call so far? Got any big fish wagers?

What time is the question and answer session? Will there be any on ice seminars about tactics, or presentations to help put fish topside?

I haven't ice fished this lake in about 4 years. It had a pretty large scale winter kill a few years back. I am sure it has since rebounded. Lakes like this typically come back pretty quickly following winter kill, especially with the mild winters we have had as of late. Mayhew used to be loaded with smaller perch, and had decent crappie action at times. I too would be curious to know how Mayhew is doing. Wish I could be more help to you.

Be very cautious on lakes even further north of the Ogilvie area lakes. As of 3 days ago, there was still significant open water on Ripple, Hickory, Big Pine, Cedar, Bay, Farm Island, and numerous other lakes in the Mille Lacs, and Aitken area. Be very cautious, take your time, and test the ice every 10 yards or so, particularly if you get anywhere near anything that would be considered mid lake. Area resorts and bait shops are very reluctant to give advice that would be considered a green light to access even the small lakes. Be safe....
