Grindstone Report

2 posts in this topic

Went to grindstone on saturday in hopes of getting some trout. Fished the drop offs right off the access...hit the bottom a couple times with the auger, but fished from 6 to 52 ft. of water. Caught 1 14 inch laker on wax worms and orange forage minnow. Other than 2 little nibbles, we didn't have anymore action. At one point my vexilar lit up like a christmas tree, I assume it was a school of smelt of cisco. There was a good number of people fishing out there, anyone else have better luck than me?

I was out there today and we didn't catch a thing or see a thing on the camera or Marcum. We were out from the red barn and same depths.

When I left for work yesterday the lake had white caps on it. When I got back 10hrs later it was locked up. An hour after that the first idiot was broke through the landing. If we get the snow they are predicting for Saturday my guess is there will be sleds in the water this weekend. They do it every year.    Patients people.

I have never fished it in the winter. Do not know of anyone that has either. Should be good though! Cliff
