Fished Shamineau last Friday and Saturday night for a total of about 10 hours. Didn't even graph a fish. Drove across the whole lake and fished 5 or 6 spots, found up to 30" of ice. Very, VERY slow.

I'm headed up to Alexander on the 16th... How is the ice, and driving conditions on the ice?

i agree...4 tip ups last weekend from 7am-10pm, and not a single flag on Alex. I dropped in a couple Reel Weeds and fished crappie in the evening, and nothing there either.

If the ice gets any thicker (27-29" where I was), my arms are going to fall off punching holes!

I'll stand behind Steve's ice rods!   I was able to get a nice collection of them last week.  Some panfish rods that I hope to work out tomorrow, and some walleye/laker types that I used today.  Great feel, light, and well built.       I connected with a couple mid-20 inch lakers today and couldn't have enjoyed the fight any better on another rod.  Very happy!   Thanks Steve!

Not bad! Was the ice soft all they way through?
