I was thinking about heading over there as well this weekend. Have you been finding better size of the crappies on the east or the west side?

We haven't tired the west side at all, we're set up on the east side.

Iwas on the sw end. Lots of small sunnies. I small [PoorWordUsage]. I did see something interesting. I was sitting there and I noticed my vex move in the hole. I figured it was a northern, so I looked. Here was this huge Bowfin!!! It was just checking out my equipment make sure it was working right or something. I caught a couple of those out bass fishing one trip. I know they are rough fish, but I will say, the two I caught put up a real nice fight.

they do that from time to time. I had one do that to me on a Sippi backwater spot. Dogfish fight real hard. I used to hate them but now kinda like them. Especially those bigguns. When they spawn the males have elec blue fins. If I see one I'll try to get it to bite, but would rather catch a bass or walter.

I was out tonight. Had a rough go of it. Marked a ton of fish, but only landed 2 Crappies. I tossed what I had at them. Did anyone else experience the same? We were in 26' in the 2nd group of houses North of Harty's.

I was also in the 2nd group, yeah pretty slow fishing, lots of very small crappies, 1 small walter, and perch. did not help much with all the activity out there, sleds, 4 wheelers, dirt bikes, but oh well it was fun and they were haviving fun on their machines.

I was out of French Park amongst the city of houses yesterday. Saw a lot of crappies on the camera, but only got perch to bite. Was in about 32fow. Moved up to 19 with no luck either.

I always thought after shooting them from my deck, it couldn't get any easier; guess I was wrong. Lol! Backstraps never tasted sweeter. Hope you bought a lottery ticket.

Information I have indicates the operator stopped his machine on the marked trail, in a section marked 'Thin Ice'. That is when the machine went through.

Well i will dissent a little, of course having more motor than nessessary doesn't hurt. I have fished the spring nearly every year with a 55 or 65 lb thrust bowmount.  Only once did i have difficulties, it was rolling down stream, so i used the outboard, still sucked, got very wet. I have fish the river a hand full of times without a trolling motor and have still fone extremely well.

Cigarguy seems to know a lot about the Landing from its Facebook post or driving bye. Seems very narrow minded about a buisness he does frequent.  Not sure if he actually lives in the area?   We frequent the Landing often!  The environment is inviting, clean, food is exceptional and consistent!  The service is outstanding the owners are alway there and working.  They operate a fantastic operation.  They've taken a facility that had a lot of issues in the past and turned it into a place we all on Lake Vermilion are proud to bring our family and friends!  The area and lake have had a lot of failures and "most" bar/restaurants are for sale.  Cigarguys favorite, the Crescent is for sale.  Bayview is open seasonally and who knows it's future.  Wolf bay is open seasonally. The Vermilion Club has shortened hours.  I would think supporting all the buisness on Lake Vermilion is what we should be doing before we have less and less options! Lake vermilion has a lot of options but only one crown jewel...The Landing!
