9 posts in this topic

We have 2 groups going up shortly staying outta each place. Hoping for some action around where we're at? Any reports will be appreciated. Will have sleds so moving around might have to happen.

Not really. Some houses have been getting a few at night but nothing consitent. If you want to be amused, bring a underwater camera with you. You might get mad tho with all the sniffers.

Might have to bring camera. We have a rookie coming up with us. Never been on ice in his life so anything would be cool.

Was up at Appledorns this weekend, lots of fish, few takers..Our house was in 23 fow and the camera showed jumbos all weekend, just couldn't get them to bite. They would come of the bottom and chase for a foot or so and then go right back down..Just want to say thanks to Paul at Appledorns, you guys do a great job!!!

Was up at Dickies this weekend. 16 guys, 5 perch, only 2 big enough to eat. Can't blame the resort, the fish just weren't biting. We were about 3 miles out from Liberty Beach.

Fished Cannon lake this evening. I bounced around from 12-5ft of water and started to mark fish in 8ft so I set up there until dark. I saw a bunch of fish come in for a look but not one nibble. Tried every color and style spoon and jig I had but nothing.

Best thing you can do if you won't be around is to put the house on fresh ice, don't drill any holes, and put it on blocks.  When people get into trouble is if it gets windy and they have open holes under the house, that rain starts blowing around on top of the ice, and starts swirling down into the holes under the house....that swirling water EATS ice, and can sink a house pretty quick.     As as far as the ice on the lakes, if you have 14-15 inches of good ice like most places around, you'll have no worries if you do what is posted above.

Rented a sleeper out on Garrison Bay Sunday night with some friends. Fishing was slow but we managed a few walleyes. Best went 23" on the rattle reel. Was a lot of fun though, wish the bite could have been better. How is everyone else doing out there? Any good bites or has it pretty much slowed down for everyone.     Here is a video of the trip:
