Just curious, but has anyone seen the graffiti on the bridge that is south of 210 in Brainerd(by the DQ). How in the world do people put that up there? I have been wondering htat for years? Too cold to fish, so I thought I would come up with something

Just hold your buddy by the shoe laces and look for trains. Thats all.

Personally, I've been to that DQ too many times to find friends that strong!!!!

You can walk under that bridge my buddys and me would go under there when we where growing up lol. When a train would come thru you would have to hold on with your life, it got really shakey. Good times thou.

Yep. When I was younger we were under that bridge a-lot. Quite easy to walk on it under the tracks. Never had the need to paint anything on it, but a fun place to goof around on.

That is just craziness. About 3 weeks ago I was driving to Mille Lacs with 3 guys and we commented on that. I can guarantee you wouldn't see me doing it!

I've done some dumb things growing up, believe me. But one of the things about GROWING UP is realizing how dumb they were.

I guess my point is, I don't think its that cool or wise to point out how easy it is to climb on such a dangerous spot and how you think its a "cool place to goof around."

Last I checked, this was an open website with kids on it all the time. If your going to brag about dumb acts, do it to your other "grown up" buddies in private maybe.

There is about a 3 to 4 inch lip that you can walk on on the outside. you can get to it from a catwalk that is underneath. went under there a couple times in high school. scaling thoose beams over the rocks to get out there was the scary part. Kids I dont recomend doing this, I am not a trained professional, we got in a little trouble from the brainerd pd for being under there once.

I've done it too. The sad thing is it only makes me more jealous because of our very poor customer service and product knowledge remaining in the Brainerd area.

Reeds was bought out by Gander Mt. I also liked Reeds for thier product knowledge put I always felt pressured in the store when I was just looking. At Gander I might not get the expertize but I can shop in peace. NO MEANS NO!

Gander played their corporate card and trumped out the competition.

Interesting...I have never felt pressured once in reeds. And trust me, there has been a high percentage of my paychecks run through their tills over the years.

I think that someone willing to offer assistance could be considered "pressure" if you are always shopping at Gander where there customer service for me has typically been sub par.

Back to the original topic... I pass over the Mississippi bridge everyday, and find myself looking at the writing. I grew up in the burbs, however if I had grown up here, I probably would have been found walking the rail a time or two. It doesn't look like there is much (if anything)to walk on, but I guess if there is a will, someone will find a way.

I crossed over to the dark side of smallies about 15 years ago. Mostly chase pannies in winter but used to chase eyes a few times on the hard water each season.   I could post a ton of pics if you need more proof.

Sorry to make you hold up a bottom feeder, but we needed to see it!

I was up over the weekend and my shoreline was getting pretty sketchy.  Had a pocket of open water down the shore about a 100 yards. Where I could see the bottom in two to three feet of water.  Walked out about a hundred yards and popped four holes Saturday afternoon. There was 17- 18.5"s of ice in those four holes. Looking at the forecast I can't see the ice sticking around too much longer.  The holes I popped had 5-6" of pretty mushy cloudy stuff on top and about 12"s of pretty solid stuff underneath it.
