Everything changes everyday. It's imposible to predict much of anything. Also remember that you could fit many 1,000's of MN's other lakes all together inside of URL. Hillman's road alone is 50+ different reports everyday.

KellyP and myself do not "guide" per say in the winter. We run sleeper houses on the lake and it keeps us plenty busy.

I guide during the open water season and early ice for pike.

Yep... those sleepers keep Jon and Kelly pretty busy... and when they have a free minute, they are busy babysitting me!!!

Good Luck!

Where did you go Labs? I went over for more soup today and nobody was around! Thought about busting into your shack and stealing the Swiss Cakes rolls you had stashed.

You know if you don't feed us we will hide the Labshack again. \:\/

They kicked me out and pirated my house! I think I fed them too much food and they want their wives to believe they really were ice fishing! grin.gif

Next time if the waether moderates a little, we'll get the grill fired up! Screw the soup! Time to grizzle down some hunks of meat!

Good seeing you and Jim and Kelly and Patsy...and.... grin.gif

See ya in a couple weeks! It feels good to be back!

Good Luck!

Is Jim your grandpa, Jonny? I've been reading a book based in Waskish (in the 60's), and Bill Callies, the game warden stated a couple times that a Jim Petrowske was a good friend of his.

Very cool. I'm not a Waskish regular, and don't know much about the history of the town. Did you know Bill Callies? If not, does your grandfather ever speak of him?

Well they already have the gas powered drink blenders for the beach, Mike. 🤙

Don't take me wrong, I'm not anti-technology.  Battery powdered items will always have their place.  I'm mean you don't want your girl friend or wife in the bedroom playing for their gas powered adult toys!!  That would be a bit loud and smokey!

That’s right. My 84 year old dad loves his electric chain saw. Light weight and quiet. Besides, at his age he’s not cutting a bunch. Where as myself I want something with more power and heavier duty.  Look at how many people have switched back to gasoline cars after running one in winter if you travel a lot.   As long as my strike master works I’ll keep using gas. Maybe my next will be electric, but who knows,  you can find used gas ones pretty reasonable as others buy electric.
