Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

A while back there was a topic about problems with different versions of the lowrance upgrade problems. I could not find the logs. My question is which units were haveing problems with reading in water of less than 15ft in the weeds and so forth. I am going to be buying a new unit and dont want to have the issues with reading in shallow water and in the weeds. The unit i think were the problem was the lcx110c. I have a lcx17m and i have issues in the weeds but once im out past the edge it is great. I am thinking about the lcx27c is this one of those units?

Yes it was, since I have one (lcx27c), but there's a new upgrade software for it. I haven't tried it on water of course but apparently it should be fixed.

It was not the unit itself that had the problem, it was a software version. Lowrance swore up and down that it was not an issue, but all of us found differently. I had issues with a 25c, a 332, and a eagle model. I have installed the newest versions of the software on my lcx-25c and my lcx 112c, and have not had a lick of problems with the new versions. I do however keep the older versions around, just in case.

I am in the same boat as sparkaber-I have 1.4 and 1.6 and the problem version is 1.7. I have the newest on my 25c and it seems to work great but will keep the older versions just in case of any new bugs.

What do you mean you will keep the older versions? Can you save them onto to a card, or did you update them previously to that, so you have them on a card already?

I see Lowrance's website has an update version 2.1.0 My two Lcx27's both have these issues. I downloaded the 2.1.0 and will be installing it soon. Hope this resolves the issue.

I have the copies on my computer so if I ever want to go back to a later version I can just load it on a SD card and put it in my Lowrance but for now I will keep the newest version cause I did not get to use it enough in the fall to truly test it. When I download the software I always choose to have it go in my documents and from there I will put it on my SD card. Hope this helps.

Neighbor and I went out in Wakemup for a couple hours tonight and got a 18" and 19" and had a nice one come unbutton on the way in....Leaches and crawlers.  That's good for me!  20 - 34' off a break line.  Del, working on the last flight of the steps-was looking for you to stop by and help!

I used lead core on Friday and had a ball catching walleyes of all sizes.  I started in the morning and stayed out until I just got tired in the afternoon.  I probably pulled in as many as 20 or so.  My formula was:  90 feet of line, 19-24 ft of water, #5 rattling split deep shad rap.  Silver color.  I kept it right at 2mph.  I also did much better when I pumped the rod in a regular cadence.  Keeping it in the rod holder didn't produce near the fish.

Ace, I hope you enjoy your retirement.  I hired you one time and my boy and I had a good time.  I appreciate the hard work you did on putting us on fish.  Good Luck and maybe "Little Ace" can continue the family business some day!   Michael Theis

These are legal aliens.  Glad you enjoyed your lunch.

Trolling or casting jigs and spinners(silver or gold are best for pike IMO) near the weeds, in bays, etc, cranks, and top water buzz baits around weedy areas are how I get most of my pike. Use a leader. Orange jig heads with a sparkly yellow twister tail and a jumbo leech gets me more pike than any other method. Your mileage may vary.

I had lunch there a couple of days ago. Great service and good food! I did not see any illegal type aliens there at that time!  Cliff

Sorry, don't remember TJ Hooker.  Besides I make it a practice to avoid hookers....  (rim shot)
