Has anyone been out to Becker Flats by the Casino?

I am wondering how good the ice is in that area. Also has anyone droped a line arround there?

I tried it. The ice is good. The fishing wasn't. There were about a million holes drilled out there. I think that area has been hammered due to the poor travel out to the flats. I'd go to Rocky Reef on the south end if you want somewhere close and a couple fish here and there good luck.

Do you meant Betker flat? yes it has been hit hard this year and it is never very good i spent too much time on it past years due to lack of tranportation at thin ice periods. there is good ice ther but i tried it in Dec. and got one eye. i would go someplace else.

I have been out there twice this year and only two pout put on ice. I agree, lots of fishing pressure and very few fish being caught. I usually have much better luck. Only a few slush pockets out to the flat.

Nice thats what I like to hear, was doing an annual trip to LOW with my buddies, but to be quite honest biggest fish I ever saw in 10 plus trips was 27 inches, I caught 3 bigger than that on the pond last year, and hey I can stay in Wright county where I live and catch 10 inch walleyes.. I don't make it up to that end of the lake ever, usually fish the south end..Bought a wheel house this year, would loke to set it up as base camp and hopefully be able to head up toward that end and do some exploring..And thanks for the input, thinking there is a lot of readers and not many writers on this site nowadays...

Lake Marion is completely iced over. Hopefully we won't get much snow and be fishing soon.

Silver lake in New Brighton is iced over. I'm going to count one week before checking thickness on my early ice spots. Could be fishing next Friday if all goes well.
