Thanks Chad Benson.

Just wanted to say thanks to Chad Benson. 4 of us went up from the 19-21. Chad had us on the walleye, and his reports were very accurate. Chad put us on fish and we caught about 30 to 50 a day. Most came at night durring the night bite, and on our last night we left up the rattle wheels after one in the morning. You know its a succesful trip when you get sick of catching walleye by the end of it. Talking with friends sounds like we might try to get back up late Jan. to see about that crappie bite. Hopefully there are shaks left. Once again tanks Chad, you really made a believer outta everyone in the group when it comes to fishing on Upper Red. grin.gif And for others reading the post, larger gold kastmasters where the lure of choice when it came to producing fish on our trip.

Great report. Good to hear that Chad had you on a hot spot and that his service is so good.

Benson paid you how much to say this?

No I'm only kidding. grin.gif

That's what I love about URL. I don't mind only taking home two... I'm more of an action fisherman anyway. As long as get action when I fish, I really don't care what I take home. The crappies are definitely a bonus!

FYI 2 of the 3 landings near us were starting to look a little beat up yesterday. With the temps & moisture today along with more of same forcasted for tomorrow, I have to believe that access to the area lakes will be getting tougher.

Still about 14-15 inches of ice...plenty of slop and water today. Access was very beat up when I left.

Anyone know what resorts are/aren't open to wheelhouse traffic this weekend? I see Hunters point and Agate bay are closed due to cracks by shore. I usually fish the east shore but might have to be open to something else.... Anyone know what resorts are/aren't open to wheelhouse traffic this weekend? I took a break from walleye fishing on Vermilion and decided to chase crappies for a few days to get away from the crowds. Fun and a good bite also! Cliff
