Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

People are just starting to move out. Main bay has little ice on it still. Sand I believe has more and I heard 10" near pine point. At least that is where the rentals are moving to. I would be careful anywhere on walker bay still.

Be careful,

Talked to a guy today that drove his wheeler out by sand point, walked another 50 feet and put his chisel through with one stab. crazy.gif

Up in that area there is 6" in some spots and 1 1/2 in some spots.

There was a Suburban down on shingabee today. That guy had a death wish... Talked to some spearers that said they were finding anywhere from 9" to a foot down there.

They are driving out by pine point, thats probably where I would go this weekend.

BE CAREFUL

just got back from leech. fishing was slow did manage 24 keeper perch for the three of us and released 29" pike. the ice was not the best a few slush pockets that made things a little interesting. the first spot we fished had 10", we then moved closer to the point and found only 6.5".

but still a fun day on the ice.

The wife and I were up to L O W  for whole week. Great weather, good fishing and fun time. Was able to fish 7 days split up between Morris point, Long point and the river. For me Long point was the better bite. May have seen a couple members of outdoors Mn on Tuesday out of LP. Let me know if I'm right. Also met member from Wisc. at Morris point( real good guy) Anyway didn't seem to matter much what color jig caught them on every color with frozen shiner. Some days were better then others but always caught fish. Ate several meals of fish and brought fish home. Also caught a 14 in perch that I brought into taxidermist. Plan on going back at least one more time this fall . ( Too good not to).

Got some grouse and saw some nice coveys. The biggest was 6 birds but found couple groups of 5. That is always fun.

we mainly jigged fatheads in front of their mouths. 2 weeks ago also and tried a few different times over 3 days this trip. water is still crazy low so I don't think many boats will be using access. Also tried a couple different plastics and some gulp. Probably ready to go crazy up there soon.  Last year at this time it was really good. Might get there once more before ice time but not sure.

Been thinking about breaking out the Jiggin Raps, might have to give that a shot. It's been too crowded out there this weekend with MEA going on.

Sounds good! May an oversized deer with obscenely large antlers find its way to you!

Well the weather was pretty crappy but the fish were biting...Had to sort through but kept some for dinner. Caught a variety today, eyes, jumbos, crappie and a few smallies... rigging on or next to rocks worked best for us.
