Jon P.-Crappies in March

3 posts in this topic

We had great crappie fishing in Feb. of 2007 with you and Kelly. We have reservations with you on March 1,2,3. I recently read that the perch fishing can also be good in March on URL smile.gif. Can we expect to catch some bonus perch along with the crappies in our next visit in March of 2008?

Ya you can catch some perch but it will almost require pulling a few portables off the crappie mud and up to the gravel breaks. Once you get out of the crappie zone and into the gravel the perch rule that world, normaly a one or two mile treck towards shore from the crappie grounds but very well worth it.

Thanks for the response concerning perch in March, Jonny. We obviously prefer catching the "monster crappies" from URL, but I was curious about the possibility for some perch also. I always enjoy reading the useful information that you contribute on a regular basis. See you in March!

Fished spring park today, tried walleye early with no luck.  Switched to bass and managed to find a few in about 10 feet over weeds.  Caught most of them on a chatterbait

If you can bring your boat to shagawa which is close my friends up there are doing very well on eyes lots of small ones but pletty of eaters. Burntside is a not the easiest walleye lake but it is a night bite. If you like pout you can get some all summer long there. I like to fish near the little finger bays that have mud bottoms.
