Jail Lake

1 post in this topic

Hi all,

Anyone been over towards Jail Lake, few miles NE of Pine River off Co. Rd 48 I think it is? Was there last year and annually for several years prior and the lake was down a couple feet, and fishing was not as it had been in the past. My family has fished this lake for years & I basically learned how to fish there as a youth with my family, so I'm curious from a historical/emotive/family liniage perspective more than a current state of fishing report. Fun lake with a lot of childhood memories.....

No public DNR access, but the two places on the lake allow access. Rumors were that someone blew out the beaver lodge that fed to the "Little Jail" and down to Lizzie I believe it is? That's what dropped water levels, as "legend" has it.

Anyone with anything to share is much appreciated....

Chris

Who wants to fish in the dark, best thing about Vermilion is the ability to catch walleyes during bankers hours.  I would recommend looking into one of the private rentals on the lake (VRBO, etc.), most will have a private dock and offer more privacy.

Hey Bob,   We are coming up this weekend, fishing for the entire day on Saturday the 21st.  Osakis has been on my radar as have a few of the chain lakes, however with it being so long since I have fished in the area, I just wanted to see if there were any other suggestions for a decent multi-species lake or at least one with a chance for having a respectable crappie - walleye combo.   We also have been looking into Mary, Ida, Irene and Oscar.
