Fall Walleyes on the River

9 posts in this topic

Is anyone catching any Walleyes yet? They should be getting on the bite real quick. I'll be jigging some chubs tomorrow to hopefully get a couple smile.gif

River nut, good to hear. Shoot me an email if you want to go fishing again. It should be getting pretty good.

Matt,

Starting to get a few in the spots you and I fished last fall. Been catching them on tube jigs while fishing for smallmouth. Nothing huge, but nice 15 - 17's.

Also caught my first 20" smallie a few weeks ago before the water level started to rise from the rains, what fun!

Those spots that you were talking about catching a mixed bag of 'eyes and Smallies... How north are ya talking?? That sounds real similar to my fall catches and I fish launching in downtown Anoka!

Picked up a few and lost a few tonight on tubes...

Of course on accident...

Lord knows I can't catch 'em on purpose...

still love my setup for bluegills but not the best when I use a size 10 jig and fishin for crappies. I might grab the clam springs and rig a rod up with the wire thats a little stiffer and see how it works. this would just be for deep fish.

Out Sunday ... Looked like a City of Trucks and Castles ... Bite was slow but managed a few Crappies / sonnies on Plastics.   we lost a nice walleye near the hole on a moon jig and crappie minnow.   Might have to go Perching in the shallows on south side of MilLacs this weekend.  Hey Moose ... what ya using for Perch on Millacs shallows 12-18 FOW?

Was out after work for a couple hours yesterday and got two walleyes to bite. The Landing is getting flooded out. Was kinda hesitant on driving out after seeing all the trucks parking on Shore and taking the long walk out. With all the black ice out there it was a little spooky but after seeing 17" to 19"of good ice  was pretty comfortable with it

I will be interested to hear of your experience.  Please let us know.    I think the anecdotal evidence was that the service and quality was not up to the premium price, although that could be old news.     "fine dining" has been a tough sell on the lake.   Several places have tried and failed that I am aware of.

Only fishing for crappies. With a baby at home only get a few hours after work to fish.
