This is Gordy from Oskosh, Wisconsin with a 437lb. Black bear taken while guided by Outdoors with Jonny P & Waskish Minnow Station.

Its time to check baqck in with Jonny P and see how the bear season is going. And GOING it is! While I had him on the ohone I also was able to bend his ear about the up coming Grouse season as well. Good luck this weekend to all my archer frends and small game hunter. And any youth out there taking advantage of the early waterfoul season, I hope you have a blast.. Literaly!

Congrats Gordy on a real bruiser. Looks like I should have applied for a tag and went hunting with guide Jonny P with the great reports coming in.

Sorry Deitz, I guess I'll go lay in the yard, but you might want to proof read your post before your Students do. blush.gif I only bring it up because your posts are usually much tidier...

Anyway, nice Bruiser.

Male or female??? Looks like a younger, heavy, male.

Sure has a funny look on his face, Ol' Furrypaws!

I like to sacrifice larger shiners just for their scales.  Ill take my thumb nail and work em off in the hole and a big cloud of scales slowly make their way down.  Ive never been a fan of a pile of dead minnows under my hole.

Fished today from 23ft-33ft. Moved 8 times. 3 guys. 2 fish. Thus far.... Case anyone else who prefers an honest report cares to hear one.   75+yrs experience with 40+ on this lake during winter. For whatever its worth.

Has anyone been out the past couple of days and if so how is travel across the lake? Cam u get most anywhere with a 4x4 pickup?

You might be able to get away with one and half minnows at a time, but no more.... lol

My experiences would suggest, R&D  resort on Straight Lake and Eagles landing on 5th crow wing.
