Tackle Sale - Elk River.

2 posts in this topic

Home Depot's have been carrying a small selection of fishing tackle and at least the one in Elk River is discounting all their stuff to move it out. Mostly Rapala's and Terminator stuff but some Lindy items as well.

Was there today and they still have table full of stuff.

I think it is not all that cheap. If you look under the table, they have some rapila pinch style scales, 0-15 lbs for $49.95. Other than that, is starting to slim out. A lot of rapila's and storm crank baits!

I have a few different rods. The one i was originally referring to i am using for crankbaits.  i have a jig and worm rod as well. I have mastered the cast, just trying to learn more about leaders. Thanks! Do you recommend i use 17# test for my worm and jig rod?

As far as I know walleyes are native to almost every lake that they are found in up north. Cliff

How do you fish for the cats on open water?

Interesting point, BT.  I think our houses caught one perch this year, and I can't say that I knowingly marked one small one (except for when I was down in the bays on the south side).  I have no doubt that they are still in the lake, but I just ain't seeing any.

Are walleyes even native to vermilion? Pretty much every lake in northeast Minnesota had walleyes introduced to them in the last 50 to 100 years. If walleyes weren't native to vermilion, saugers certainly wouldn't have been native either. Sauger numbers seem to shrink the farther east each lake gets from Rainy Lake.
