I will be attending a family event on Lake Vermilion next weekend but have never fished it. I would like to get my teenage nephews into some smallies. Where would be a good place on the lake to try, depth and which bait may be the best?

Also, which would be the best method for fishing Senko's Texas hook-up?

Thanks in andvance for hopefully making my nephew's trip a memorable one.

We will be staying on Moccasin Point.

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. You are staying in a good area for smallies.

Try fishing docks, underwater boulders. Underwater points that extend out from islands. Trees in the water. Logs laying on the bottom. Deadheads in shallow water. I will be up there on sunday (most likely)...I could circle spots on a map for you if you'd like.

Green pumpkin or watermelon senkos seem to work great. I use a #1 eagle claw Kahle hook and put the hook through an o-ring thats placed on the center of the worm (wacky rigged). Me and my son caught over 40 bass last saturday.
