Superior Water Temps

3 posts in this topic

Fished out of Silver Bay yesterday and the water temps at the surface ranged from 49-52F. Couldn't get a fish to hit even though I marked big balls of bait (smelt, I'm guessing). Maybe the fish were full, too. Then I headed down to Twin Points that afternoon and the water temps were 54-60F. Caught a nice laker and a coho. Interesting to note such a contrast in temps within only a few miles. Of course, the Silver Bay area is very deep while the Twin Points area is very shallow.

I fished out of the Twin Ports yesterday. I got on the water about 2:45 p.m. and fished till dark, basically in just one spot. Surface temp. was 74 degrees when I started fishing but dropped to 65 degrees by dark.
