For bass look for weedlines. I've done well w/ texas and carolina rigs on the edges -about 14-17 fow- this time of year. And of course late evening and early morning try some topwaters or unweighted senkos in shallow.

I personally haven't fished it for skis, but I'd imagine they'd be on structure this time of year. I do remember a friend told a friend told a friend who told me that they do pretty good at night on skis out there too, I don't remember what they were using or anything.

Troll around the sunken islands with a decent size crank bait that dives in the 10-15 foot range. Just don't fish the main lake either. Go through channel to the southwest portion of the lake.

Most of our fish came on minnows under bobbers. I spooked countless fish with even subtle jigging.

I never made it out Monday was too tired from fishing Friday - sunday didn't feel like getting up early

Hey, Here a quick update on actual ice thickness or snow cover on trout. 14 inchs of ice pressure ridge out there. if you are  on a snowmobile if traveling fast on it watch for it. Truck or car i do not recommend on trout with pressure ridge. And yes i have been on the whitefish chain this year in truck. just not on trout. just my 2 cents

Thanks for the info everyone. And Borch that is good to know too.  I try to spend 2-3 hours looking on cedar each trip, but It's a lot of water to break down , and having only been out hardwater cattin 6 times so far I still have a lot to learn.  Generally I spend a lot of my 3 hours losing confidence and then wind up at the meth hole to catch a few .  Putting in the work is what makes it so fun once it all comes together though!
