I'd like to know about the status of the islands in these two resevoirs. I've seem duckblinds, houses, docks, and BWCA type camps on the scattered islands. Who owns these islands? What's the protocol? Can Mr. or Mrs. Anywhominnesota person camp on the uninhabited islands?

There are a few that are priviate. Most are public. Most of the campsites you find are available to anyone. If you have any questions about specific islands you can check with Minnesota Power's land management website.

New changes this summer for camping on Fish and Island lakes. Biggest change is No camping on any island thats not numbered. Some other changes are maximum 7 day stay. As always its first come first serve.
